Fr. Brian Gore, a Columban Missionary shared his experience of mission during the Monthly Clergy Recollection of the Diocese of Bacolod. "The last man sitting, not standing", was his witty description of himself as he delivered his talk seated before the Bishop and clergy of Bacolod last February 9, 2021 at the St. John Paul II Cultural Center, Sacred Heart Seminary - Bacolod.

According to Fr. Gore, a missionary 'is the stranger in the Father's house" as he felt like this most of the time in his engagements. He recalled his Kristiyanong Katilingban days of community organizing among the mountain communities in southern Negros, which in the process, led people to rediscover their dignity and the strength of their collective action.

In the end, Fr. Gore challenged the clergy to explore new frontiers for evangelization and for priests to go out of the comfort of the familiar.

Fr. Gore was among the priests of the Negros Nine who were imprisoned during the Marcos dictatorship.
