On his second Vicariate Pastoral Visit for the year 2022, Bishop Patricio A. Buzon, SDB, DD starts his visitation with the St. Jude Thaddeus Parish and Shrine, the Vicariate seat of Alijis.
A sizeable crowed led by Rev. Fr. Samuel E. Balboa, Rector and Parish Priest welcomed the Bishop during the Reception Rites last February 14, 2022.
In his message, the Bishop reminded the faithful that “it is actually Jesus, the good shepherd, who is visiting” the community.
The Alijis Pastoral Visit was a whole day activity composed of a series of meetings. In the morning, the Bishop was with the members of the Parish Pastoral Council and lay leaders of the community for a pastoral meeting while Fr. Balboa and the parish secretaries had a session with the Chancery Office and the Diocesan Office on Information Technology (DOIT). During the meeting, Rev. Fr. Roy Christian D. Gesulgon, Chancellor-Secretary and Rev. Fr. Emiel P. Mijares, DOIT-Managing Director discussed chancery and digitalization concerns with Fr. Balboa and his office staff.
In the afternoon, the Bishop together with the Office of the Diocesan Treasurer led by Rev. Fr. Mitchel J. Guadalupe, Diocesan Oeconomous had a session with the Parish Finance Committee concerning the financial management of the parish.
For February, Bishop Buzon is set to cover the whole Vicariate of Alijis for his pastoral visit.
After Alijis, Bishop Buzon will proceed to the San Antonio Abad Parish (Taculing) on February 26, the Holy Family Parish (City Heights) on February 19, the Immaculate Conception Parish (Bakyas) on February 21 and the St. Joseph the Worker Parish (Doña Juliana) on February 23.
A pastoral visit is the bishop’s way of looking into the administrative and pastoral running of the parishes and chaplaincies in the diocese.
