In a Pastoral Letter dated March 4, 2022, Bishop Patricio A. Buzon, SDB, D.D. has called “mandatory” the setting up of the Parish Pastoral Council for Responsible Voting or PPC-RV and the circles of discernment for the parishes and chaplaincies throughout the Diocese of Bacolod.
This directive, according to Bishop Buzon, is “in view of the invaluable service of the PPC-RV and the circles of discernment” in relation to the upcoming elections.
Bishop Buzon, likewise, noted that these initiatives by the Church are reflective of its “commitment to help ensure an honest, fair and peaceful elections.”
The Bishop has directed the Diocesan Social Action Center and the Pastoral Office of the diocese as lead offices for the implementation of the diocesan initiatives and programs regarding the upcoming May 9 national and local polls.
