After two years into the digitalization program, only twelve out of the 72 parishes and chaplaincies of the Diocese of Bacolod have gone ‘digital’ in terms of their financial reporting to the Curia according to Mr. Dennis Doblar, Director of the Diocesan Office on Information Technology (DOIT).

Rev. Fr. Emiel Mijares, DOIT Managing Director, also observed that most of the parishes and chaplaincies are still submitting “manual” financial reports. He added, that some parishes have already started in their data-banking of canonical records but have stopped updating for a number of reasons.

Recently, the DOIT has deployed IT volunteers to the parishes and chaplaincies in the diocese in an effort to fast-track the program.

Mr. Doblar, on the other hand, reported that since its installation early this year, the 300 thousand-peso worth server of the Diocese of Bacolod has now become fully operational.

These updates on the digitalization program of the diocese were made during the Board Meeting of the Diocesan Office on Information Technology last March 15, 2022 at the Conference Room of the Bishop’s House.

In attendance were the members of the DOIT Board namely Bishop Particio A. Buzon, SDB DD, Msgr. Joy Jimera, Rev. Fr. Mitchel Guadalupe, Rev. Fr. Gregorio Neri, Rev. Fr. Roy Christian Gesulgon, Rev. Fr. Rene Gaylon, Rev. Fr. Emiel Mijares and Mr. Dennis Doblar.
