Two hundred seventy BEC leaders from all over the Diocese of Bacolod participate in a BEC Diocesan Assembly organized by the Commission on BEC on April 2, 2022.

A total of 46 out of the 74 parishes and chaplaincies from the 12 vicariates of the Diocese were represented in the event.

Bishop Patricio A. Buzon, SDB, D.D. in his homily during the opening Mass reminded the participants that the gathering is a concrete expression of synodality in the Church.

The half-day activity was composed of talks from Rev. Fr. Dominic M. Derramas, JCD on “Church and Politics” and Rev. Fr. Chris S. Gonzales on choosing the right candidate for the May 2022 Elections.

Rev. Fr. Tomas S. Rito, head of the Commission on BEC, on the other hand, introduced the importance of the establishment of “circles of discernment” among BECs and families in relation to the upcoming polls.

Fr. Rito also expressed his hope that the inputs received by the BEC leaders will be echoed in their respective parishes and chaplaincies.

The event was held at the Our Lady of Perpetual Help Shrine, B.S. Aquino Drive, Bacolod City.
